October 6–12, 2026, marks Physician Assistant Week, a time to recognize the dedicated healthcare professionals who play an important role in delivering quality, compassionate care to patients and communities.

At AxcessPointe Health System (APHS), our Physician Assistants are valued members of our care teams. Through their clinical expertise, compassion, and commitment to patient-centered care, they help ensure individuals and families have access to the healthcare they need.

The Role of a Physician Assistant

Physician Assistants, commonly known as PAs, are licensed medical professionals who work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. They evaluate patients, diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, provide preventive care, and educate patients about their health.

Their versatility allows them to serve patients across a variety of healthcare settings while helping expand access to timely, comprehensive care.

Making a Difference in Our Communities

At APHS, our providers focus on more than treating an immediate health concern. They build relationships with patients, encourage preventive care, help manage chronic conditions, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health.

Our Physician Assistants contribute to this work every day by providing compassionate care and helping patients navigate their healthcare journey.

During Physician Assistant Week, we proudly recognize and thank our PAs for their dedication to our patients, their colleagues, and the communities we serve.

Happy Physician Assistant Week to our incredible PAs!
